Wanted:People touched by Cancer for New Advisory Council

Eight people from across the province who have been touched by cancer, either as a patient or through the experience of a family member or close associate, are needed to be part of the Advisory Council. These Albertans will join up to 10 others selected by AHS for their expertise in various areas of cancer diagnosis, treatment and care.

Provincial Advisory Council – Cancer members will:

· seek and appropriately consider evidence when advising on planning and practice in relation to cancer;

· provide advice regarding potential challenges, gaps, opportunities and strategic investment within the cancer field; and

· actively communicate the Advisory Council’s purpose and role.

Albertans interested in becoming a Provincial Advisory Council – Cancer member are asked to complete and submit an expression of interest form by Tuesday, May 24, 2011.
